Drug Formulation

Chenpi 1 qian, Banxia 1 qian and a half, Poria 1 qian, Licorice 1 qian, Qingpi 7 fen, White Cardamom (shelled, lightly roasted, and ground) 1 qian and 2 fen, Bupleurum 1 qian and 5 fen, Cinnamon Twig 1 qian and 2 fen, Perilla Leaf 1 qian, Fresh Ginger 2 qian, Anemarrhena 1 qian and 2 fen, Scutellaria 1 qian and 5 fen.

Instructions for Use

Decoct the above ingredients in water. For the first decoction, use a light decoction and take it three hours before the onset of malaria. For the second decoction, add 1 qian 4 fen of Changshan (wine-fried), 8 fen of cardamom seeds (wrapped in flour or rice and steamed, then crushed), and 8 fen of areca nut. Decoct with plenty of water for a long time, but be sure to take it one hour before the onset of malaria.If taken too early, the medicinal effect will be excessive; if taken too late, the malaria will have already set in. If taken according to these instructions, the malaria will cease immediately.
