Drug Formulation

Castor bean (soak in rice washing water for 3 days; scrape off the skin and hairs; slice and sun-dry; simmer in sesame oil until it floats; transfer to a pan and stir-fry in dry oil to remove excess oil; wash with water; dry and set aside) 4 liang; roasted turtle shell slices 1 liang 5 qian.

Grind the above herbs into a fine powder and form into pills the size of a Paulownia seed using glutinous rice.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 fen per dose; adjust the amount downward based on the patient’s constitution (deficiency or excess). Depending on the affected area, use appropriate guiding herbs to direct the formula to the relevant meridians, then decoct into a decoction and take orally. Keep warm and sleep; avoid exposure to drafts. If you experience numbness or twitching throughout the body, or even shivering, do not panic; these symptoms will subside after a short while.
