Drug Formulation

5 liang of Scutellaria baicalensis, 5 liang of Rheum palmatum, 16 Gardenia seeds, 5 liang of Coptis chinensis (hairs removed), 1 sheng of fermented soybeans (roasted), 3 liang of Euphorbia kansui (from Mount Tai), 5 liang of Ephedra (knots removed), 2 liang of sodium carbonate, 100 Croton seeds (skin and core removed, roasted and ground; one formula includes 70 apricot kernels).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a coarse powder, mix with white honey, and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

For retained fluid due to cold damage or undigested food from previous meals.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 pills per dose. Continue until vomiting or purgation occurs. If vomiting or purgation does not occur, add 2 more pills.

Note

Avoid pork, cold water, and asparagus shoots.
