1 liang of Coptis chinensis, 1 liang of Bupleurum chinense, 1 liang of Panax ginseng, 1 liang of Astragalus membranaceus, 1 liang of Rehmannia glutinosa, 1 liang of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 1 liang of Polygala tenuifolia, 1 liang of Cistanche deserticola, 1 liang of Gentiana macrophylla, 1 liang of Glycyrrhiza uralensis, 1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 5 qian of Dioscorea opposita, 5 qian of Atractylodes macrocephala, 5 qian of Schisandra chinensis, 1 liang 2 qian of Asparagus cochinchinensis, and 1 liang 2 qian of Ophiopogon japonicus.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take one old hen, remove the fat, and steam until tender. Pound the hen and the powder together over a thousand times until the mixture is extremely fine and free of bone fragments. Mix with refined honey to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
