Drug Formulation

1 liang of Angelica sinensis, 2 liang of Coptis chinensis, 1 liang of Astragalus membranaceus, 1 liang of Scutellaria baicalensis, 1 liang of Fructus Aurantii,Wuyao 1 liang, Dafengzi 1 liang, Fangfeng 2 liang, Caowu 2 liang, Xueyu 2 liang, Qingteng 1 liang 5 qian, Mutong 1 liang 5 qian, Mubiezi 1 liang 5 qian, Kushen 1 liang 5 qian, Xiangfuzi, Sangpi 1 liang 5 qian (cut into coarse slices; stir-fry in 2 jin of sesame oil until charred and dry; strain out the herbal slices; then add the remaining ingredients), Songxiang 4 liang,Tiger Bone (roasted with ghee and ground into powder) 2 liang, Dragon Bone 1 liang 5 qian, Cinnabar 2 qian, Red Ocher 1 liang 5 qian, Honey-processed Tothos 2 liang 5 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, add to the oil, then add 3 liang of beeswax and stir thoroughly. Next, add 5 qian each of frankincense, myrrh, and talc powder, along with 1 liang of tannin powder, and stir again. Simmer over low heat until a drop of the mixture forms a bead when dropped into water. Remove from heat and spread the ointment to cool.
