Drug Formulation

6 liang of dried tangerine peel, 4 liang of Atractylodes lancea (soaked overnight in rice washing water mixed with ginger juice, then sun-dried), 3 liang of licorice, 4 liang of Magnolia officinalis (prepared by mixing with old wall soil, 2 slices of ginger, 1 zhan of wine, and 5 zhan of water; boil until dry, then sun-dry), 3 liang of cardamom,Areca nut (raw) 2 liang, Wood Fragrance 2 liang, Pinellia (soaked in boiling water 7 times) 2 liang, Cardamom 2 liang, Green Tangerine Peel 2 liang (remove pith, chop finely; thread 3–4 Croton seeds—with their husks and membranes removed—onto a string, place inside the green tangerine peel, and roast until the Croton seeds turn black; then remove the Croton seeds).

Instructions for Use

Coarsely crush the ingredients. For each dose, take 5 qian of the mixture, add 2 zhan of water, 5 slices of fresh ginger, 2 each of black plums and jujubes, and a sip of wine. Simmer together until it boils 3–5 times. Let it stand overnight with the residue. At dawn, strain and drink the liquid. Simmer the residue again until the volume is reduced to 7 parts. Strain and drink on an empty stomach. Simmer the residue once more and take it before the onset of a malaria attack.
