Instructions for Use

When using this remedy, first take 1–2 doses of Fangfeng Tongsheng San. Then place the medicine pellets in a bowl and set them alight. Cover the medicine strips in the bowl with a funnel; if no funnel is available, a thick paper cone shaped like a trumpet may be used instead. Have the patient inhale the smoke emanating from the funnel tube(The patient must first fill their mouth with clean water before inhaling the smoke to prevent stomatitis; an empty basin filled with plenty of clean water must also be prepared.) When the patient feels unable to breathe normally, they should spit the water from their mouth into the empty basin, rinse with fresh water, and repeat the process—inhaling and rinsing—until the medicinal strip has burned completely and no smoke remains. The spit-out water must be poured into the toilet to neutralize its toxicity; however, take great care—under no circumstances should it be swallowed, or it will cause the throat to rot. Be extremely cautious. No matter how severe the syphilis—even in the third stage—it can be cured. For severe cases, the toxin will inevitably flare up after three days of inhalation; there is no need to be alarmed. After 2–3 days, the sores will naturally scab over and the skin will peel off, leading to recovery. For mild cases, the sores will scab over on the same day. If you do not make them into incense sticks, you may wrap the above ingredients in yellow rice paper into a rolled-paper shape, light it, and inhale the smoke from a distance; this will yield the same effect.
