Chinese Name : 梅膏丸

Drug Formulation

4 liang of black plum, 14 seeds of croton (remove the shells; boil with 3 bowls of water together with the black plum until all the water has evaporated; retain 7 croton seeds and grind them with the black plum pulp into a paste), 1 liang of white alum (raw), 2 liang of pinellia (washed 7 times in hot water and dried in an oven), 1 fen of toadflax seeds (roasted),1 fen of Tussilago flower, 1 fen of soapberry (roasted until yellow, black skin removed), 1 fen of Aristolochia, 1 fen of ginseng (root tip removed).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with the paste, and form into pills the size of mung beans.

Instructions for Use

Take 5–7 pills per dose after meals, washed down with ginger decoction; if accompanied by shortness of breath, phlegm, or cough, take them with a decoction of mulberry bark and radish.
