Drug Formulation

3 liang of Agastache, 3 liang of Scutellaria baicalensis, 2 liang of Perilla frutescens, 2 liang of Elsholtzia ciliata, 2 liang of Rehmannia glutinosa (fine-ground), 2 liang of Schizonepeta spica, 2 liang of dried tangerine peel (stir-fried in salt water), 2 liang of processed Pinellia, 2 liang of Atractylodes macrocephala, 2 liang of Alisma orientale, 2 liang of Coptis chinensis, 2 liang of Cypress,2 liang of Arctium lappa, 2 liang of black bean skin, 1 liang 5 qian of processed Cyperus rotundus, 1 liang 5 qian of Artemisia annua, 1 liang 5 qian of Saposhnikovia divaricata, 1 liang 5 qian of Ligusticum chuanxiong, 1 liang of light fermented soybean paste, 1 liang of yellow chrysanthemum, 1 liang of white tribulus,Liu Shen Qu 1 liang, Jian Shen Qu 1 liang, Poria cocos 1 liang, Red Poria 1 liang, Forsythia 1 liang, Talc 1 liang, Plantain Seed 1 liang, Angelica sinensis root 1 liang, Sichuan Fritillary Bulb 1 liang, Red Adzuki Beans 1 liang, Barley Sprouts 5 liang, Rice Sprouts 5 liang, Roasted Aquilaria 5 qian, Amomum 5 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Separately, use 0.5 fen of plum blossoms (if flowers are not in season, use 3 tender tips of branches and leaves; in areas without plum trees, substitute with pitted frosted plums or black plums), 0.5 fen of Cinnamomum cassia twigs, and 1 bowl of Tianquan water to prepare a decoction. Evenly sprinkle the decoction over the herbal powder, then use 8 qian of licorice to prepare another decoction to form pills. The pills should be the size of a marble, each weighing 2 qian, and coated with 2 liang of cinnabar.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose, using an appropriate decoction as a vehicle as needed: in April, 2 qian of wild rose flowers and 3 fen of plum blossom petals (if using frosted plums or black plums, use 2 for heavier cases and 1 for lighter cases); decoct and take with the pill;In April: 1 qian of coix seed, with plum blossoms in the same proportion as above; in June: 2 qian of fresh agastache leaves, with plum blossoms as above; in July: 1 qian of peppermint, 1 qian of lotus stem, with plum blossoms as above; in August: 1 qian of bupleurum, with plum blossoms as above; in September: 2 qian of perilla stem, with plum blossoms as above; for children, add 1 qian of uncarina to the appropriate adjuvant; for those from the northern regions, add 2 qian of rhubarb to the appropriate adjuvant; take with a decoction.
