Drug Formulation
3 liang of genuine opium (ground in winter, stewed in summer), 1 qian 2 fen of rhinoceros yellow (dehaired), 1 qian 2 fen of genuine musk (dehaired), and 9 qian of herb ash.

Processing
Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Then take 2 liang 4 qian of white rice, grind it into a paste, add the four ingredients from above, and grind again until uniform. Shape into pills, each weighing 3 li. Coat with cinnabar, place in a large sealed envelope, and seal tightly. Place it inside the lid of an inverted foot warmer, cover it with wrapped straw paper, and gently roast over charcoal fire for three sticks of incense. Shake the lid three times for each stick of incense.three times each, totaling nine times—this is called the Nine-Transformation Elixir. Once the incense has burned out, transfer the pills to the lid of the foot warmer; allow them to cool, then open the package and place them in a porcelain jar for future use.
