Drug Formulation

4 fen of realgar, 4 fen of dragon’s blood, 5 fen of asafoetida, 5 fen of realgar, 5 fen of frankincense, 5 fen of myrrh, 5 fen of catechu, 3 fen of pearl (boiled in tofu), 3 fen of ivory (roasted until yellow), 3 fen of mercury chloride, and 2 qian of orpiment.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Melt 3 liang of sesame oil, 1 liang of beeswax, and 1 liang of lard in an iron pot. When the mixture has cooled to a warm temperature, add the powdered mixture and stir until the oil turns reddish; mix thoroughly to form a paste.
