1 snake exoskeleton (calcined in a clay or porcelain jar), 1 qian of “Thousand-Mile Horse” (an old straw sandal from the left foot worn on the road, thoroughly washed and burned to ash), 7 pieces of gold leaf, 7 pieces of silver leaf, 1 qian of hair ash, 1 qian of silkworm exoskeleton ash (silkworm exoskeletons burned to ash),half a qian of frankincense (ground separately), 2.5 qian of black lead (melted over a fire using a small tong, then 0.75 fen of mercury is added; stir vigorously until it forms grains, pour out, and grind finely).
