Drug Formulation

Schisandra berries 1 liang (cleaned); Dodder seeds 1 liang (first sift to remove ash, then soak in wine for 2–3 days, steam, pound into a fine powder, bake dry, and grind for use);1 liang of Chinese chive seeds (roasted), 1 liang of rubus fruit (stems removed, washed with wine), half a liang of Cnidium monnieri seeds, 1 liang of black aconite root (roasted, skin and pith removed), half a liang of white poria (skin removed), 1 liang of silkworm pupae (boiled in wine), 1 liang of Cistanche deserticola (dried with wine, washed beforehand),1 liang of deer antler (roasted with wine, skin and hair removed), 1 liang of Amomum villosum seeds (husk removed), half a liang of agarwood (unroasted), half a liang of Astragalus root (honey-roasted), half a liang of Polygala root (washed in hot water, core removed), 1 liang of Yangqishi (calcined, finely ground to a powder), and 1 liang of prepared Rehmannia root (washed in hot water, mixed with wine, and steamed).

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; mix with glutinous rice paste cooked in wine to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
