Chinese Name : 羌活酒

Drug Formulation

Half a liang of Qianghuo (root tip removed), half a liang of Duhuo (root tip removed), half a liang of Chuanxiong, 1 he of hemp seeds (roasted and ground), and 1 he of black beans (dust removed; not pounded).

Processing

Take the above five ingredients; coarsely grind the first four. Steep them in 4 sheng of millet wine. In summer, steep for three days; in autumn and winter, steep for seven days. Once the steeping period is complete, boil the mixture for over ten boils. Roast the black beans until smoke rises, then pour them into the wine while still hot. Let it steep for a short while, then strain thoroughly to remove the dregs.
