Drug Formulation
5 jin of Jinwen Chuan rhubarb (sliced thinly; add 1 jin of rice wine and 4 liang of white honey; mix well). Use a willow-wood steamer: line the bottom with a layer of willow leaves about one cun thick. Soak 2 sheng of mung beans in water overnight. Pound 2 jin of black lead into thin sheets, cut them into small pieces, and mix thoroughly with the mung beans. Spread half of this mixture over the willow leaves, cover with a piece of new summer cloth, and then spread the rhubarb on top;cover with another piece of new summer cloth, spread the remaining half of the lead-bean mixture on top, then cover completely with willow leaves. Steam for seven sticks of thick incense. Allow to cool, remove from the steamer, discard the willow leaves, lead, and beans; only sun-dry the rhubarb and expose it to the air. Repeat this process nine times, then it is ready for use), 1 liang of dried black plum pulp, 1 liang of peppermint leaves, 1 liang of trichosanthes peel (fried with wheat bran),Guangmu Xiang (unroasted) 1 liang, Chenpi 1 liang, Nine-Processed Danxing 1 liang, Wenha (removed pulp, stir-fried until golden) 4 liang, Beimu (removed core) 2 liang, Sandalwood (unroasted) 1 liang, Goji berries 1 liang, Agarwood (unroasted) 5 qian, Poria 5 qian.

Processing
Add about 10 jin of water and simmer until the liquid is reduced to approximately 3 jin. Strain out the residue, retain the clear liquid, and soak the previously prepared Nine-Processed Rheum in it until the liquid is fully absorbed. Dry in the sun, then store in a porcelain jar. Prepare the following additional ingredients: Nine-Processed Xuanming Powder 8 qian, Seven-Processed Qinglong Stone 5 qian, Official-Grade White Borax 5 qian, Genuine Blood Amber 8 qian, Horned Agarwood (pure powder) 8 qian,Curcuma (Yu Jin) 5 qian, Black Rhinoceros Horn 2 qian, Antelope Horn (pure powder) 5 qian, Stalactite Powder (ground into a fine powder and purified by water washing) 3 qian. Grind these nine herbs into an extremely fine powder. Weigh exactly 1 jin of the previously prepared Nine-Processed Rhubarb, grind it into a powder, and mix thoroughly. Pound into pills using Venus Clam Paste, and coat with a mixture of gold leaf and cinnabar.
