Drug Formulation
Ephedra (roots and nodes removed, coarsely chopped) 4 liang, white mulberry root bark half jin (coarsely chopped), peach pith 4 liang (coarsely chopped), willow pith 4 liang (coarsely chopped), black beans 2 sheng, a child’s urine 3 sheng,15 sheng of river water (well water is also acceptable; combine the above 7 ingredients in a silver or stone vessel and simmer until the volume is reduced from 3 fen to 1 fen; strain out the residue and set aside; then add the following ingredients): 2 liang of Tiannanxing (raw), 2 liang of Tianxiong (peeled and with the navel removed, raw), 2.5 liang of dried scorpion (cleaned of soil, stir-fried), 2 liang of Tianma, 1 liang of Tianliao flowers, 3 fen of musk,ni powder 1 qian, frankincense half a jin, wood turtle seeds (shell removed) 1 liang (the above 9 ingredients should be pounded and ground into a fine powder; mix with the juice of raw Rehmannia root and add to the decoction from the previous ingredients; simmer over low heat until it forms a paste; store tightly in a non-porous container), cinnabar 1 liang, mica powder 1.5 liang, gold leaf 10 pieces, silver leaf 10 pieces.

Processing
For the above formula, grind the last four ingredients into a fine powder. Place them in a porcelain box, seal it with motherwort, and place it in a pit. Use 5 jin of charcoal to calcine the mixture until it turns bright red; cover with damp soil, wait until it cools, then remove it. The mixture is ready when it turns a pinkish color.

Instructions for Use
To prepare, first take 3 sheng of clear wine, 1 liang of the ointment, and half a liang of calcined cinnabar (ground). Combine all in a silver or stone vessel and simmer the wine down to 1 sheng. Divide into 5 doses: take one dose at noon, one in the evening, and one after midnight. The treatment is complete when the patient walks 20 li and expels pathogenic substances. Adjust the dosage according to the patient’s condition—give a smaller dose for deficiency and a slightly larger dose for excess.If profuse sweating persists after taking the medicine, prepare a decoction of Ephedra root nodes and administer it. Additionally, keep the patient in a well-sealed room for 20 days, after which they will recover.
