Chinese Name : 三品一条枪

Drug Formulation

2 liang of alum, 1 liang 5 qian of white arsenic, 2 qian 4 fen of realgar, and 1 qian 2 fen of frankincense.

Source

*Authentic Treatise on Surgery*, Volume 2.

Processing

Grind the two ingredients—arsenic and alum—into a fine powder. Place the mixture in a small jar and heat it over charcoal until it glows red. Once the blue smoke has dissipated and white smoke begins to rise, continue heating for about a moment until the contents glow uniformly red throughout. Remove the jar and slam it onto the ground. Leave it overnight, then retrieve it; you will have approximately 1 liang of pure arsenic and alum powder. Add the previously prepared realgar and frankincense, grind everything together until extremely fine, mix with a thick paste until viscous, roll into thread-like strands, and air-dry in the shade.

Benefits

Effective for 18 types of hemorrhoids, five types of fistulas, scrofula, carbuncles, back abscesses, and brain abscesses. Currently used for early-stage cervical cancer.

Instructions for Use

For any of the aforementioned conditions with an opening, insert the medicated strands into the opening; for those without an opening, first use a needle to create an opening, then insert the strands twice daily, in the morning and evening. After 3 days of application, insert more than 10 strips into larger openings; continue until the 7th day, stopping only when the affected opening is completely filled with the medicated strips. Subsequently, the affected area will naturally split open into large fissures along all four sides. By around the 14th day, the abscesses, scrofula, and fistulas associated with hemorrhoids will naturally fall off. Wash the area with a decoction and apply Yuhong Ointment; patients with deficiency constitutions should also take spleen-tonifying herbs.
