From *Xian Nian Ji*, Volume 1.

Processing

Drill 7 holes around the radish, insert 7 castor beans, plant it in the soil, and wait for it to set seed; collect the seeds and plant them again. When the radish is ready, drill 7 holes again, insert 7 castor beans, and plant it once more. Repeat this process three times. On the fourth time, just as it is about to bloom, pull it up by the roots, air-dry it, and store it in a clean porcelain container.
