Instructions for Use

Use 2 or 3 jin of high-quality sesame oil. Add all the herbs except peppermint and plantain herb to the oil and simmer until the mixture turns a dark golden brown. Just before it is done, add the peppermint and plantain herb, boil for 1–2 more boils, then strain out the residue. Pour the oil into a cauldron and heat it. When the oil is 7-fen hot, add 1 jin of yellow丹. Stir continuously with a locust tree branch until it forms a paste; test by dripping a small amount into water—it should not disperse.then add 1 liang each of frankincense and myrrh and stir until well blended. Pour into a bowl and allow to set; subsequently, place it in water to remove the heat toxicity for ten days.
