Processing
Except for Poria Sclerotium, Turtle Plastron, Tiger Bone, and Cinnabar—which are ground into a fine powder—Pine Nut Kernels are ground separately. Once the Deer Antler Powder and Gelatin are fully powdered, dissolve them in wine and mix with refined honey; all other ingredients are coarsely crushed.Wash the placenta in clean water to remove any impure blood; use a silver needle to pick out the purple tendons, then cut it into pieces. Place it in an earthenware pot with 3 bowls of aged wine, 1 bowl of aged rice vinegar, and 1 bowl of clear, white infant urine, several bowls of rice washing water. Mix well and pour into the pot, ensuring the liquid covers the ingredients by about one cun; if insufficient, add more rice washing water. Cover the pot tightly with a lid and simmer over mulberry-wood fire until completely dry. Grind into a fine powder, mix with the previous powder, and combine with refined honey to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
