Drug Formulation

Ginseng (root tip removed) 1 liang, White Poria (coarse skin removed) 1 liang, Cinnamon Bark (coarse skin removed) 1 liang, Fructus Aurantii (fried with wheat bran, pith removed) 1 liang, Licorice (chopped, roasted) 1 liang, Shenqu (fried until yellow) 1 liang, Barley Malt (fried until yellow) 1 liang,Terminalia chebula bark (baked, pitted) 1 liang, Atractylodes macrocephala 1 liang, aged tangerine peel (white pith removed) 1 liang,Dried Ginger (roasted) 1 liang, Jing Sanleng (steamed, chopped) 1 liang, Peng’e Zhu (steamed, chopped) 1 liang, Houpo (coarse bark removed, coated with ginger juice, roasted) half a liang, Areca Nut (steamed, chopped) half a liang, Wood Fragrance half a liang.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 qian per dose, mixed with 1 zi of salt; it may also be dissolved in plain hot water. If there is disharmony of the spleen and stomach, abdominal distension, or fullness and oppression in the chest, use 1 zhan of water, add 7 slices of ginger, 2 jujubes, and a pinch of salt. Simmer together until reduced to 8 fen, then drink the decoction hot—including the residue—on an empty stomach or before meals.
