Drug Formulation

Poria cocos (white, with black skin removed) 10 liang, Ophiopogon japonicus (with core removed, roasted) 3 liang, Atractylodes macrocephala 2 liang, Panax ginseng 2 liang, Chrysanthemum morifolium 2 liang (stems removed), Dioscorea opposita 2 liang, Lycium barbarum 2 liang, Rehmannia glutinosa 20 jin (juiced).

Processing

Grind the first seven ingredients into a fine powder. First, in a silver vessel, combine the fresh Rehmannia root juice with 3 liang of butter and 3 liang of white honey, and simmer together. Gradually skim off the golden foam from the surface of the liquid until it is completely removed, yielding approximately 5 sheng. In a silver or stone vessel, stir-fry the ground mixture of the first seven ingredients with this liquid until it is gradually absorbed. Once dry, add white honey and pound into pills the size of a Paulownia seed.

Take 50 pills per dose, on an empty stomach or after a meal, washed down with clear wine.
