Processing

Coarsely grind the ingredients. On the 8th day of the 12th lunar month, take 7 large bowls of clear water flowing eastward, decoct until reduced to 3 large bowls, strain out the dregs, and transfer the medicine to a new sandpot; then select 4 liang of pure, intact cinnabar, place it in a fine silk bag, tie the opening with thread, and suspend it in the medicinal liquid, approximately one finger’s width above the pot’s bottom. Simmer over a low fire using mulberry wood until the liquid is completely evaporated. Remove, grind into a fine powder, and store in a porcelain jar;Separately, take half a sheng of high-quality glutinous rice, rinse it thoroughly, and drain off all moisture; then mix salt brine with clean yellow earth to achieve the proper consistency, wrap the rice in the mixture to form a bundle, and place it in a charcoal fire. Roast until it glows red-hot, then remove it immediately. Once cooled, split it open and select the grains that are uniformly yellow in color; grind these into a fine powder as well, and store them separately in a porcelain jar.
