Drug Formulation

1 night-hawk (plucked, beak and feet removed, intestines and stomach removed, then roasted until golden brown),1 sheep’s liver (bleed thoroughly in clear oil to stop bleeding; remove tendons and membranes; split into slices; roast), half a jin of Schisandra berries (rinse thoroughly; place in a raw silk bag; steam over rice three times; roast), 1 liang of Sichuan pepper (remove seeds and any closed pods; stir-fry until sweaty),1 liang of paper mulberry seeds, 1 liang of Epimedium, 1 liang of Equisetum, 1 liang of Notopterygium (with the root tip removed), 1 liang of cicada shells (cleaned of soil), 2 liang of chrysanthemum flowers (with calyxes removed), 2 liang of Schizonepeta spikes, 2 liang of Atractylodes (soaked in rice water, peel removed), and 2 liang of Tribulus seeds (stir-fried to remove the spines).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey, and form into pills the size of a paulownia seed.

Take 30 pills per dose, washed down with warm wine or salted water, at any time of day.
