Drug Formulation

49 peach kernels (soaked in hot water, with skin, tips, and double kernels removed, then ground into a paste), 1 sheng of raw Rehmannia glutinosa juice, 1 sheng of raw Achyranthes bidentata juice, 5 liang of white honey (combine the above four ingredients in a stone pot and simmer over low heat until it becomes a thin syrup),1.5 liang of softshell turtle shell (coated with vinegar and roasted until yellow; remove the frills), 1 liang of Beijing-grown Curcuma zedoaria (lightly roasted and chopped), 1 liang of Angelica sinensis (chopped and lightly roasted), 1 liang of Corydalis yanhusuo, 1 liang of dried lacquer (crushed and roasted until smoke rises),Half a liang of Datura flower (tossed with vinegar and stir-fried until dry), 49 leeches (stir-fried until golden), 49 horseflies (wings and legs removed, lightly stir-fried), 1 liang of areca nut, 1 liang of Sichuan rhubarb (chopped into small pieces, lightly stir-fried), 2 liang of cinnamon bark, and 1 liang of amber.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix thoroughly into the previously prepared decoction, and pound 200–300 times with a pestle to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
