Drug Formulation

Half a jin of Tianhuafen, half a jin of Huanglian, 4 liang of Ren Shen, 4 liang of Zhimu (shell removed), 4 liang of Baizhu (roasted, root base removed), 3 liang of Wuweizi, 6 liang of Maimendong (core removed), 2 bowls of lotus root juice, 2 bowls of Huai Shidi Huang juice, 1 bowl of human milk, 1 bowl of cow’s milk, and 2 wine cups of ginger juice.

Processing

First, slice the seven ingredients containing Tianhuafen. Place them in a clay pot with 16 bowls of rice washing water and soak for half a day. Simmer slowly over mulberry wood fire until reduced to 5–6 bowls,strain thoroughly. Then, mash the residue, add 5 bowls of water, and simmer until reduced to 2 bowls. Combine this with the previous liquid and simmer further until reduced to 2–3 bowls. Add the Rehmannia glutinosa juice and other juices, and simmer slowly until it reaches the consistency of syrup. Add 1 jin of white honey, skim off the foam, and continue simmering until it becomes a thick paste. Transfer to a porcelain jar and soak in water for 3 days to remove the heat toxicity.

Take 2–3 spoonfuls at a time, place under the tongue and swallow, or take with plain hot water.
