Drug Formulation

1 qian of Oyster Shell (raw, ground), 1 qian of Silkworm Larva (dried), 1 qian of Sichuan Manchurian Tortoise Shell (stir-fried with earth), 1 qian of Fangfeng, 1 qian of Forsythia,Qianghuo 1 qian, Frankincense 1 qian, Honeysuckle 1 qian, Coptis 1 qian, Angelica sinensis root tip 1 qian, Rhubarb 3 qian, Tianhuafen 4 liang (fresh, unsun-dried; pound to a paste in a stone mortar, add 1 bowl of water, stir well, and strain out the residue).

Benefits

For cases of brain abscess with deep-seated accumulated toxins, characterized by hard, swollen, and numb pain; dry mouth and tongue; nausea, restlessness, and thirst; six pulses that are deep, firm, and forceful; and constipation with no bowel movements.

Instructions for Use

Combine the strained Tianhuafen juice (1.5 bowls) with the other herbs and decoct until reduced to 8 fen. Add 1 cup of wine and take while hot on an empty stomach. After three doses, the patient may resume eating and drinking.

Note

Avoid fried, stir-fried, and other “triggering” foods.
