Drug Formulation

1 liang of dried toad (burned to ash), 1 Tianling cap (burned to ash),half liang of Strychnos seeds (rinsed in water to remove floating particles, then stir-fried until black), half liang of Coptis chinensis (ground into powder), 1 fen of arsenic trioxide (wrapped together with the parietal bone in 3–5 layers of damp paper, sealed with clay, and burned over a charcoal fire until uniformly red; remove and allow to cool; grind all ingredients into a fine powder), and 1 fen of musk.

Processing

Mix all the above ingredients thoroughly and form into pills the size of millet grains using soft rice.

Instructions for Use

Take 5 pills at a time, washed down with breast milk, regardless of the time of day. If the child appears drowsy as if intoxicated, cover them with a garment and wait for them to fall asleep. Examine the knuckles of both hands: if they appear white and downy, the child will recover immediately; if red, recovery will occur within 5 days; if blue-black, recovery will be difficult.
