Processing

Place the ingredients in a raw silk bag and boil in concentrated lye solution until it comes to a boil 10 times.remove, wrap tightly in thick paper, and press under a heavy object to extract the oil; grind into a powder. Then take 3 qian bi of Black Powder (i.e., the “Amber Black Divine Powder” from the original text), mix with ash-free wine to form a thin paste, place in a porcelain vessel, and simmer in a double boiler until thickened. Add the croton seed powder and mix thoroughly to form pills the size of mung beans.
