Drug Formulation

5 qian of resined gambier, 2 qian of Bletilla (ground), 2 qian of elephant skin (roasted, ground), 2 qian of frankincense (processed, ground), and 2 qian of myrrh (processed, ground).

Processing

Boil the gamboge in one bowl of sheep’s blood until it has boiled 100 times, then remove it and discard the sheep’s blood. Sun-dry the gamboge, then grind it together with the other herbs into a fine powder. Add a small amount of beeswax, melt it, and mix it with the powder to form a paste. Knead into strips and air-dry in the shade.

Effective for all types of fistulas, as well as red abscesses and hemorrhoidal fistulas.
