Red Gardenia (crushed) 1 liang, Phellodendron 1 liang, Coptis 1 liang.

Processing

Add two gong bowls of water and decoct until one bowl remains; repeat for the second and third decoctions, each yielding one bowl, for a total of three bowls. Strain out the residue; add one jin of Pi Xiao and simmer until dissolved. Remove the sediment and collect the clear, dissolved liquid, then slowly refine it over low heat to form a paste.Take 16 large river snails; place 1 li of borneol into each one. Wait until the snails have dissolved into liquid, then mix this liquid into the powder. Add 5 qian each of bear bile and catechu, grind them into a fine powder, mix thoroughly with the powder, and set aside for use.

Instructions for Use

For each treatment: On the first day, use 1 liang of Sophora flavescens, decoct with 3 large bowls of water until reduced to 2 bowls, and strain out the residue; add 1 liang of processed calcium oxide powder, bring to a boil 2–3 times, pour into a basin, and first fumigate the affected area before washing it. Wash 3 times daily;On the second day, reuse the remaining decoction from the previous wash, add 1 liang of Sophora flavescens, and boil with 1 large bowl of water until reduced to the original volume. Add 5 qian of processed calcium sulfate powder and follow the same steaming and washing procedure as above; on the third day, follow the washing method from the second day; on the fourth day, discard all the decoction and, as on the first day, use fresh water to boil Sophora flavescens with processed calcium sulfate for washing. Repeat this cycle every three days, and the hemorrhoids will disappear and never recur.
