Drug Formulation

2 liang of Sichuan melia fruit, 1 liang of Achyranthes root (soaked in wine), 1 liang of areca nut,Dodder Seed 1 liang (ground separately, soaked in wine), Cnidium Seed 1 liang, Dried Ginger 5 qian, Pangolin Scale 1 large piece (roasted with ghee), Lotus Seed 1 liang (with seed core intact), Frankincense 3 qian (ground separately), Agarwood 5 qian (ground separately), White Sandalwood 5 qian (ground separately), Deer Antler 1 liang (roasted), Morinda Root 1 liang,1 liang of large anise, 3 qian of Epimedium, 5 qian of Polygonum multiflorum, 3 qian of Eupatorium fortunei, 5 qian of Trigonella foenum-graecum, 1 liang of ginseng, 1 liang of Alisma orientale, 1 liang of Chinese yam, 1 liang of Schisandra chinensis, 2 liang of prepared Rehmannia glutinosa, 1 liang of Ophiopogon japonicus, 1 liang of Cistanche deserticola, 1 liang of Poria cocos, and 5 qian of white peony root.

Processing

Of the above herbs, set aside the four ingredients—Frankincense, Agarwood, White Sandalwood, and Dodder Seed—and grind them separately into a fine powder. Grind the remaining 23 ingredients into fine powders as well. Mix these 23 powders with the four previously ground powders and honey to form pills the size of a Paulownia seed.
