Cinnamon Bark (Gui Xin) 3 fen, Asarum (Xi Xin) 3 fen, Dried Ginger (Gan Jiang) 3 fen, White Front (Bai Qian) 3 fen, Licorice (roasted) (Gan Cao) 3 fen, Sichuan Pepper (sweated) (Shu Jiao) 1 fen, Red Ocher (Dai Zhe) 1 fen, Akebia (Tong Cao) 1 fen, Tussilago Flower (Kuan Dong Hua) 1 fen, Cnidium Flower (roasted) (Yuan Hua) 1 fen, Dragon’s Liver (Fu Long Gan) 2 fen, Purple Aster (Zi Wan) 2 fen, Oyster Shell (roasted) (Mu Li) 2 fen.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix with maltose, and pound until well blended; form into pills the size of a jujube pit.

Benefits

For chronic cough affecting the five viscera; in severe cases, the patient experiences shortness of breath and cannot lie down, with a sensation of a lump in the throat.

Instructions for Use

Hold the pill in the mouth, gradually swallowing the juice; once swallowed, hold another in the mouth until a sensation of heat in the chest is felt. If this sensation is not felt, increase the dose as deemed appropriate. For chronic and severe cases, take more than 20 pills day and night. A one-year-old with a cough will recover in one month; a ten-year-old with a cough will recover in one hundred days.

Note

Avoid seaweed, Chinese cabbage, raw scallions, and raw lettuce.
