Drug Formulation

White Poria (peeled and cleaned) 1 jin, large red dates (boiled, peeled, pitted, and flesh removed) half a jin, walnut meat (peeled and soaked to remove coarse skin) 6 liang,6 jin of white honey (boil in a pot until rolling; add the first three ingredients and stir well; simmer over low heat until boiling again; pour into a porcelain jar; then add 30 jin of high-proof liquor and 10 jin of glutinous rice white wine, all combined in the honey jar), 5 qian of Astragalus (honey-fried), 5 qian of Ginseng, 5 qian of Atractylodes (root base removed), 5 qian of Chuanxiong,White peony root 5 qian (roasted), raw rehmannia root 5 qian, prepared rehmannia root 5 qian, fennel 5 qian, goji berries 5 qian, rubus fruit 5 qian, tangerine peel 5 qian, agarwood 5 qian, wood fragrant 5 qian, cassia bark 5 qian, cardamom 5 qian, licorice 5 qian, frankincense 3 qian, myrrh 3 qian, schisandra berries 3 qian.

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix thoroughly in a honey jar, seal the opening with bamboo shoot leaves, wrap the outside with flour, place in a pot, and boil over a strong wood fire for two incense sticks’ worth of time. Remove, bury in the ground for three days to remove the fiery properties.

Instructions for Use

Take three times daily—morning, noon, and evening—with both men and women drinking several cups each, taking care not to become heavily intoxicated.
