Drug Formulation

Arsenic trioxide 1 qian, ancient lime (if unavailable, use well-aged lime, roasted and finely ground) 4 qian, orpiment 2 qian (one formula includes dragon bone and omits lime).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, then add 1 fen of rock salt and a small amount of musk.

Instructions for Use

Each dose consists of 2–3 grains the size of a soybean. First, rinse your mouth thoroughly. Dip your finger in the medicine and apply it to the gums of both the upper and lower teeth. Let the saliva drain out; do not swallow it. Rinse your mouth clean shortly afterward. Alternatively, apply a small amount directly to the eroded areas. Take 3–4 times daily; frequent application is most effective.
