Drug Formulation

Shu mulberry root (i.e., Yuanhua root; select large roots; do not use the woody parts).

From *Wei Ji Bao Shu*, Volume 2.

Processing

Harvest on the 5th day of the 5th month; gently wash off the soil in water; bring light vinegar to a boil; briefly dip the root in the vinegar until it turns white, following the method used for mistletoe. Harvest and scrape the root on the same day, grinding it into an extremely fine powder.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 zhi per dose. Prepare 1 large cup of warm wine; place the medicine in the cup. After a while, when the powder begins to float to the surface, drink it. Apply loofah juice as a poultice; vinegar mixed with the powder may also be used.
