Drug Formulation

1 liang of Coptis, 1 liang of Bupleurum, half a liang of Cnidium, half a liang of Eupolyphaga, 1 liang of Gentiana, 1 liang of Anemarrhena, 1 liang of Poria, and 1 liang of Evodia.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a powder. Place one yellow rooster (weighing 1 jin) in a cage and feed it exclusively with hemp seeds for five days. Afterward, pluck the feathers until clean, make an incision behind the wing, remove the intestines and internal organs, clean and wipe them dry, then fill the chicken’s abdomen with the prepared medicine and sew it closed with thread;Take a small steamer; first line the bottom with black beans to a thickness of 3 cun. Place the chicken inside the steamer, surround it on all sides with black beans, and cover the top securely with black beans. Steam from sunrise until evening. Allow it to cool to room temperature, then remove the chicken and grind the lean meat until smooth. If the mixture is too hard, add a paste made from wine and flour to the herbal powder and form into pills the size of red beans.

Instructions for Use
