Drug Formulation

Toad Venom (soaked in rice wine until melted; if toad venom is unavailable, use double the amount of Dong Su) 2 liang, Real Reaper’s Yellow (ground) 2 liang, Cinnabar (sifted) 2 liang, Frankincense (sun-dried) 4 qian, Cloves (sun-dried) 4 qian, Atractylodes (roasted) 4 qian, Talc (sifted) 4 qian, Dangmenzi 1 liang.

Processing

Grind each ingredient into an extremely fine powder. Mix them with the toad venom and pound thoroughly to form pills the size of millet grains. For every 4 liang of pills, moisten them by spraying with rice wine, cover them in a bowl, add 6 qian of finely sifted cinnabar, and shake vigorously until the mixture becomes glossy.
