First, grind the arsenic trioxide in a cast-iron pot; use powdered cold-water stone to form it into pills. Place them in a porcelain bowl, seal the bowl with damp paper, and heat until smoke emerges and turns the paper yellow—then stop. Remove the pills, place them on paper-lined ground to dispel the fire toxicity, and after a short while, grind them into a fine powder.Add the ground cinnabar, borneol, and musk—each about half a qian—and mix thoroughly. Soak steamed buns in hot water to form pills the size of a paulownia seed, then coat them with cinnabar.
