Chinese Name : 朱珀膏

Drug Formulation

Authentic Western Amber (ground) 1 liang; Cinnamomum cassia heart 5 qian or, optionally, 8 qian (ground); Cinnabar (water-washed and purified) 5 qian; Fragrant White Angelica 1 liang (raw, ground); Fangfeng 1 liang (raw, sun-dried until brittle, ground, and sifted to obtain pure powder); Angelica sinensis 1 liang (raw, sun-dried until brittle, ground, and sifted to obtain pure powder); Guangmu Xiang 5 qian (raw, sun-dried);Cloves 5 qian (grind these two ingredients together; the oil from the cloves will permeate the frankincense, making it easier to grind to a fine powder; use both raw), Akebia 1 liang (raw, sun-dried until brittle, ground into a pure powder; this ingredient is very hard, so use a larger quantity and grind it finely; sift to retain only the finest particles, and use the measured amount. Follow the same procedure for Fangfeng).

Processing

Grind each of the above herbs into an extremely fine powder, mix them together, and store in a bottle for future use.
