5–6 pig gallbladders, 5 qian of Coptis, 5 qian of Indigo Powder, 5 qian of Peppermint, 5 qian of Dried Silkworm, 5 qian of White Alum, and 5 qian of Wind-Dried Calcium Oxide.

Processing

Place the above herbs inside the pig gallbladders, wrap them in blue paper, dig a hole in the ground 1 chi deep, suspend a bamboo pole horizontally across it, hang the blue-paper-wrapped gallbladders on the pole, cover them securely with a weight, and wait until the Day of the Beginning of Spring to remove them and expose them to the wind. Remove the gallbladder membranes and blue paper, extract the herbs, and grind them all into an extremely fine powder.
