Drug Formulation

4 liang of Poria (with the woody core removed), 4 liang of Red Cinnabar (calcined to preserve its properties), 2 liang of Cinnabar (water-floated), 2 liang of Frankincense (ground with lamp wick), and 2 liang of Sichuan Pepper (cleaned; place the pepper on yellow earth heated with charcoal until it glows red, sweep away the ash, place the pepper on top, cover with a clay jar, and allow it to “sweat”).

Processing

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder, mix with human milk to form a thin paste, and fill goose or duck eggshells with the mixture. Seal the shells tightly with paste, place them in a crimson silk pouch, and have a clean woman wear the pouch between her breasts for 49 days, keeping it on day and night without removal. Remove the pouch when the contents are completely dry; if not, the preparation is spoiled. Grind the contents again, mix with jujube pulp, and form into pills the size of mung beans.

Instructions for Use

Take daily on an empty stomach with human milk, or substitute with a decoction of ginseng and ophiopogon; it may also be taken with wine as needed.
