Chinese Name : 紫葛饮

Drug Formulation

1 liang of roasted Pueraria root, 1 liang of roasted Euphorbia, 1 liang of black Pharbitis (roasted on a tile until half-cooked), 1 liang of rhubarb (chopped and roasted), 1 fen of wood fragrant, a small amount of frankincense (ground separately), and half a liang of roasted areca nut.

Processing

Take the above 7 ingredients (excluding frankincense), coarsely grind them, and mix thoroughly.

Instructions for Use

Take 3 qian per dose, combined with half a zhan each of a child’s urine and wine, 3 cun of scallion white, and 20 Sichuan peppercorns. Decoct until reduced to 6 fen, strain out the residue, and take warm before bedtime. By the next morning, the presence of red fluid in the stool indicates effectiveness; the first dose reduces the symptoms by 5 fen, and the second dose the following day will certainly bring relief.
