Ginseng Nourishing the Blood Decoction,Warmly tonifies qi and blood; calms the spirit and harmonizes the stomach. Indicated for conditions caused by deficiency of qi and blood, presenting with symptoms such as palpitations, forgetfulness, fever, spontaneous sweating, dry throat and lips, loss of appetite, fatigue, emaciation, hair loss, shortness of breath, soreness in the lower back and waist, and scanty, reddish, and painful urination. It is highly effective for cases without heat symptoms. It is particularly effective for blood loss syndromes caused by spleen deficiency.As this formula is predominantly warming and tonifying, it should not be used in cases of heat syndromes.

Drug Formulation

3 liang of white peony root; 1 liang each of angelica root, tangerine peel, astragalus root, cinnamon bark (with coarse outer bark removed), ginseng, and white atractylodes (roasted); 7 qian and a half each of prepared rehmannia root, schisandra berries, and poria; and half a liang of polygala root (roasted, with core removed).

Benefits

Instructions for Use

Take four qian per dose. Add one and a half zhan of water, three slices of ginger, and two jujubes. Decoct until reduced to seven-tenths of the original volume, strain, and drink while warm.
