Wind-Repelling Decoction,For all wind-related disorders, regardless of whether they are acute or chronic.Hemiplegia, deviation of the mouth and eyes, slurred speech, mental confusion, excessive phlegm and saliva, and difficulty swallowing; as well as wind-deficiency headaches and dizziness, a sensation of spinning as if about to fall, or palpitations and forgetfulness, restlessness and confusion, numbness in the hands and feet, tremors and weakness, stiffness of tendons and meridians, aching joints, and difficulty walking.

Drug Formulation

Duhuo (washed to remove soil, dried in an oven) 1 liang; Fangfeng (stem removed) 1 liang; Wu Bai Zhi 1 liang; Gui Gaoben (soil removed) 1 liang; Ma Huang (knots removed, lightly roasted) 1 liang; Bai Shaoyao (peel removed) 1 liang,Tianma 1 liang, Sichuan Aconite (roasted until cracked, peeled, pounded, and lightly roasted until yellow) half a liang, Agastache leaves (soil removed) half a liang, Sichuan Ligusticum 7 qian, Notopterygium (stems removed) 3 qian, Licorice (chopped, roasted) half a liang, White Flower Snake (soaked in wine, skin and bones removed) half a liang, White Silkworm (roasted until yellow) 3 qian,Whole scorpion (detoxified, stir-fried until yellow) half liang, cinnabar (for coating) 2 liang, white aconite root (processed, crushed, stir-fried until slightly yellow) 4 qian, Tiannanxing (marinated in ox bile, stir-fried until yellow) 4 qian, Polygala (soaked in hot water, core removed, dried) 3 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, mix with refined honey to form pills, making 10 pills per liang, and coat with cinnabar.

Instructions for Use

Take 1 pill per dose, chewing it thoroughly or allowing it to dissolve in the mouth, and wash it down with ginger decoction; musk decoction may also be used. For tetanus, take it with soybean-infused wine; for acute wind-induced epilepsy, take it with ginseng decoction, regardless of the time of day.
