Chinese Name : 柴胡煎丸

Drug Formulation

1.5 liang of Bupleurum (stems removed), 1 liang of rhinoceros horn shavings, 1 liang of Anemarrhena, 1 liang of Coptis, 1 liang of Platycodon (root base removed), 1 liang of Sichuan Cimicifuga, 1 liang of Lycium bark, 1 liang of Scutellaria,1 liang of Terminalia chebula bark, 1 Trichosanthes fruit, 2 liang of softshell turtle shell (coated with vinegar and roasted until slightly yellow; remove the frills), 3 fen of licorice (roasted until slightly red; coarsely chopped), 3 fen of red Poria, and 3 fen of ginseng (root tip removed).

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Extract the juice from 5 pig gallbladders and combine it with half a jin of honey; mix thoroughly. Simmer over low heat until it becomes a thick paste, then mix with the powdered medicine to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.

Instructions for Use

Take 20 pills per dose after a meal, washed down with a decoction of black plum and urine.
