Great Eight-Wind Decoction,For external toxic wind, stubborn bi syndrome, paralysis of the hands and feet, hemiplegia, or cases where the body is too weak to withstand the condition; or when wind invades the five viscera, causing a dazed and confused state,excessive talkativeness and forgetfulness, and occasional bouts of terror; or pain in the limbs and joints, dizziness, and restlessness; or stiffness in the lower back and spine, inability to bend forward or backward, abdominal distension with loss of appetite, and coughing; or, at the onset of the illness, sudden collapse and loss of consciousness, immediate inability to speak, loss of voice, hemiplegia, and numbness accompanied by a sensation of heaviness. All these conditions result from physical weakness in youth and failure to avoid exposure to wind and cold.

Drug Formulation

1.5 liang of Angelica sinensis, 1.5 liang of Cimicifuga, 1.5 liang of Schisandra, 1 liang of Aconite, 1 liang of Scutellaria, 1 liang of Paeonia, 1 liang of Polygala, 1 liang of Dehuo, 1 liang of Fangfeng, 1 liang of Ligusticum, 1 liang of Ephedra, 1 liang of Gentiana, 1 liang of Dendrobium, 1 liang of Ginseng,Poria 1 liang, Gypsum 1 liang, Astragalus 1 liang, Aster 1 liang, Apricot Kernels 40 pieces, Licorice 2 liang, Cinnamon Bark 2 liang, Dried Ginger 2 liang, Soybeans 1 sheng.

Instructions for Use

Crush the ingredients coarsely. Combine with 1 dou 3 sheng of water and 2 sheng of wine; boil until reduced to 4 sheng. A robust person should take this in 4 doses; a frail person in 6 doses.
