Drug Formulation

1 large winter melon (first cut a lid from the top end; remove and discard the inner pulp. Wash red adzuki beans in water, fill the winter melon to the brim with them, then replace the lid. Secure it with a bamboo skewer, tie it with hemp cloth, and coat the entire surface with paper pulp and yellow clay; let it dry thoroughly.Take two large baskets of glutinous rice bran, bury the winter melon inside, and smolder it over a fire within the bran; remove it once the fire has died out. Scrape off the mud and clean the winter melon thoroughly, then slice it thinly; roast the slices and the beans together until dry).

Grind the ingredients into a fine powder; mix with a paste made from boiled water and flour to form pills the size of a tung tree seed.
