Drug Formulation

75 kg of Aster tataricus, 75 kg of Stemona tuberosa, 75 kg of Peucedanum praeruptorum, 75 kg of Loquat leaves, 25 kg of Licorice, 50 kg of Apricot kernels, 25 kg of Platycodon grandiflorus, 12.5 kg of Ephedra, 75 kg of Isatis indigotica leaves.

Processing

Process and wash the herbal materials, then decoct as follows: Aster tataricus, Stemona tuberosa, Peucedanum praeruptorum, Glycyrrhiza uralensis, Platycodon grandiflorus, and Loquat leaves—decoct three times, with the first decoction lasting 3 hours and the remaining two each lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes. Hot maceration: Ephedra and Isatis indigotica leaves—macerate in hot water three times for 2 hours, 1 hour, and 30 minutes, respectively.Reflux: Process apricot kernels with 80% ethanol; use 4 times the volume for the first reflux and 3 times the volume for the second reflux. Perform two refluxes for 3 hours and 2 hours, respectively. Recover the ethanol from the refluxate and combine it with the extract. Concentrate the mixture under reduced pressure to a paste at 55°C until the specific gravity reaches 1.20. Add 18.75 kg of white granulated sugar,18 g of saccharin, and 1.9 kg of sodium benzoate, yielding a total of 200 liters. Each bottle contains 100 mL, with a weight variation not exceeding ±5%.

Oral administration: Children aged 1–3 years, 5 mL per dose; children aged 4 years and older, 10 mL per dose, 2–3 times daily.
