Drug Formulation

1 liang of Southern Star, 1 liang of Pinellia (soak with 5 qian of pig’s-tooth soapberry, 5 qian of white alum, 5 qian of fresh ginger, and 3 bowls of water overnight; in autumn and winter, soak for two nights; boil until tender; remove the soapberry and ginger; use only the Southern Star and Pinellia; sun-dry for later use), 5 qian of Trichosanthes seed (shelled),Atractylodes macrocephala 5 qian, Coptis chinensis (stir-fried with ginger juice) 5 qian, Cyperus rotundus (soaked in children’s urine, then stir-fried) 5 qian, Tangerine peel (white pith removed) 5 qian, Hawthorn 5 qian, Radish seeds 5 qian, Poria cocos (peeled) 5 qian, Perilla seeds 5 qian, Scutellaria baicalensis slices (stir-fried with wine) 5 qian, Trifoliate orange fruit (stir-fried) 5 qian.

Processing

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder; add 1 zhong of bamboo sap and 1 zhan of ginger juice; mix in 1 liang 5 qian of Shenqu powder to form pills the size of mung beans.
